I recently attended the Upper SC Basket Guild Weave-In where I explored a variety of basketmaking techniques and materials. At Convergence I was able to share ideas and learn from some of the best-known fiber artists in the country and beyond. It was a treat and an exceptional learning experience. This project was funded in part by the City of Charleston, City of North Charleston and the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Artist and Educator Marilyn Patel offers a unique program of workshops, classes and residencies that teaches fiber arts to students of all ages while exploring "threads" interwoven through Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Math, as well as Art.
Personalized and flexible, Follow the Thread works with educators, homeschoolers, administrators and directors to develop programs with educational direction and artistic focus.
